In ancient Persian tales this creature shares similarities with the Phoenix and Huma. This wise bird with a head of a dog is said to bring good fortune when it flies over you. If it sits on your shoulder, you're destined to become a great ruler. No wonder that the efreet Kismet loves to have one as a personal pet in his palace.
It lives in an opulent garden with a lake and verdant flowers, a sign of great wealth on such an inhospitable plane. As expected, the creature is very spoiled pet and will be a fun or annoying encounter for the party, depending how well they can navigate its whims.
